PASQUALINO GARZIA (ITALIA) - CHITARRA CLASSICA E MUSICA DA CAMERA CON CHITARRA

Nato ad Oratino (Cb) nel 1934, iniziò giovanissimo gli studi musicali nel Sud America; ha studiato poi chitarra classica con Eduardo Sainz de la Maza, Alirio Diaz, Benedetto di Ponio, Mario Gangi perfezionandosi in seguito con Andrès Segovia presso l'Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena. La sua intensa carriera di concertista lo ha portato nelle maggiori capitali del mondo (Europa, Stati Uniti, Africa), in numerose e prestigiose sale. In tutte le città che ha visitato, la critica ha sempre sottolineato la sua grande forza espressiva e la sua tecnica limpida, che lo pongono nella ristretta cerchia dei migliori chitarristi italiani. Ha affiancato alla carriera di musicista quella di insegnante, che ha svolto con grande passione per oltre 40 anni (Conservatorio de L’Aquila e Campobasso), un lavoro che gli ha permesso di ottenere la “Chitarra d’Oro”, riconoscimento internazionale conferitogli nell’ambito del IX Convegno Internazionale di Alessandria. Suoi allievi sono risultati vincitori delle più prestigiose competizioni chitarristiche del mondo (Radio France –Parigi, “Pittaluga” – Alessandria, Gargnano – BS, ecc). Ha preso parte, in Italia e all'estero, a trasmissioni radiofoniche e televisive, incidendo dischi per la Serenus Corporation e per la Pull Fonit Cetra.

Il Trio di Trieste è, nella storia dell'esecuzione musicale, il primo trio che si sia costituito ed abbia mantenuto il carattere di formazione stabile, fin dal lontano 1933, allorché i suoi componenti avevano appena dodici anni.
Per più di sessant'anni, quindi, con la sola sostituzione del violoncellista (nel 1962 a Libero Lana è succeduto Amedeo Baldovino), ha svolto ininterrotta attività in tutti i paesi del mondo, dall'Europa al Nord e Sud America, dal Medio ed Estremo Oriente all'Africa e all'Australia.
Ha al suo attivo più di 3000 concerti, tra i quali vanno ricordati almeno gli 80 a Milano (30 alla Scala), i 60 a Roma e Firenze, i 50 a Venezia, i 40 a Vienna, Basilea, Monaco e Perugia; più di 30 a Torino, Zurigo, Graz, Londra, Buenos Aires, Hannover e Siena, e così via, lasciando per ultima Trieste, dove il Trio si è presentato in pubblico per ben 180 volte.
Il Trio di Trieste è stato invitato ai più importanti festival internazionali ed ha eseguito il "Triplo Concerto" di Beethoven, il "Concerto dell'Albatro" di Ghedini e altre importanti composizioni con prestigiose orchestre, collaborando con direttori quali Böhm, van Beinum, Celibidache, Cluytens, Giulini, Gui, Kempe, Kubelik, Rosbaud, Sawallisch, Solti, ecc.
Le opere affrontate in pubblico sono state un'ottantina, con frequenze incredibili (530 esecuzioni dell'op. 99 di Schubert, 470 del Trio di Ravel, 330 dell'"Arciduca" di Beethoven, ecc.)
Le registrazioni discografiche si sono tradotte in incisioni per la Deutsche Grammophon Ges., per la Decca e per la Nuova Era, suggellate da riconoscimenti internazionali quali il "Grand Prix du Disque" per l'integrale dei trii di Brahms. Altri importanti premi hanno accompagnato la carriera del Trio di Trieste dagli anni Cinquanta ad oggi (Microfono d'argento, Diapason, S.Giusto d'oro, Viotti d'oro, Premio Abbiati della critica musicale, Maschera d'argento, Quadrivio, Mozarteum Argentino, ecc.).
De Rosa, Zanettovich e Baldovino sono Accademici di S. Cecilia e recentemente sono stati insigniti dal Presidente della Repubblica Italiana dell'onorificenza di Grande Ufficiale al Merito.
Dal 1995 il Trio ha concluso l'attività concertistica e notevolmente incrementato l'attività didattica in Italia, con una presenza costante all'Accademia Chigiana di Siena, alla Scuola di Musica di Fiesole e alla Scuola Superiore Internazionale di Musica da Camera del Trio di Trieste a Duino.
Nel maggio 1998, a seguito di una grave malattia, è scomparso Amedeo Baldovino.

CAROL LEONE (USA) - PIANOFORTE

Carol Leone has performed and taught throughout the United States, Europe, and South Korea and has been a prizewinner in piano competitions such as the National Beethoven Sonata Competition, the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition, the International Masters Competition, and the Vietri Sul Mare International Duet Competition. Her professional training has included study at The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where she received a diploma and was a student of the Polish pianist Mieczysław Horszowski (1892-1993). Dr. Leone also holds an Honors Diploma from the Accademia Chigiana in Siena as a student of Guido Agosti, and graduate degrees from the University Of North Texas College Of Music. Dr. Leone is Associate Professor of Piano and Chair of the Keyboard Department at SMU Meadows School of the Arts. Aside from her performances as a soloist and chamber musician, Dr. Leone is active in national and international festivals and conferences as a teacher, lecturer, and adjudicator.

DOMENICO CODISPOTI (ITALIA) - PIANOFORTE

Born in Catanzaro in 1975, Italian pianist Domenico Codispoti embarked on his international career when he was awarded 1st prize at the 1996 International Piano Competition in Pinerolo Italy, followed by 1st prize at the prestigious Pilar Bayona International Competition in Zaragoza (Spain) and at the Ferrol International Piano Competition. Graduating with First Class Honors from the Conservatory and the Accademia Musicale of Pescara under the tutelage of Bruno Mezzena, Domenico Codispoti became a recipient of the Joel Estes Tate Scholarship at Dallas’ Southern Methodist University, studying with Joaquin Achucarro. Domenico’s busy recital schedule has brought him to Europe, America and Asia where audiences and critics alike have been captivated by the warmth, elegance and sensitivity he brings to his playing.

HANK HAMMETT (USA)- CANTO

American lyric baritone Hank Hammett is an active performer, teacher, director, and coach who has sung and trained singing actors in the organic fields of music, voice, theater arts, acting technique, opera, and strategic performance skills for over two decades. As an acting coach for singers, Mr. Hammett has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in television and film, and at The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Opéra de National de Paris, Théâtre de la Monnaie (Brussels), Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Portland Opera, Connecticut Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), Bilbao Opera, L’Opéra de Montreal, and De Nederlandse Opera (Amsterdam). In addition Mr. Hammett has worked with Young Artists of The Dallas Opera and The Houston Grand Opera Studio. For the remainder of the 2007-2008 season he is engaged at Los Angeles Opera (Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg), Boston Lyric Opera (Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio) and Glimmerglass Opera (Händel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto). Mr. Hammett is Director of Opera at the Meadows School of the Arts and is the author/director of Opera in a Box: Follow Your Dreams for The Dallas Opera – SMU Emerging Artist Program.

DALE DIETERT (USA) - CANTO

Dale Dietert is a highly successful voice teacher and coach who has trained singing actors in their craft for over twenty-five years. He has served on the vocal faculties of the University of California at Santa Barbara and Texas State University as well as the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies (Aldeburgh, England), the International Institute of Vocal Arts (Tel Aviv, Israel), the Bel Canto Institute (Santa Barbara), the International Vocal Arts Institute (Tampa, Florida) and the Sommerakademie Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria). For twelve years in New York City Mr. Dietert had an accomplished private voice studio. In addition, he served as Assistant Conductor for, Connecticut Grand Opera and Elysian Opera, was Artistic Director for the concert series Supper & Song and produced community outreach concerts for The American Theatre Wing. In 2005, he joined the voice faculty of the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Mr. Dietert’s students have sung leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Dallas Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Cincinnati May Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, Aix en Provence Festival, Los Angeles Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Concert Royal, Ft. Worth Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera Pacific, Houston Grand Opera, Gran Teatre de Liceu (Barcelona), Opéra de National de Paris, De Nederlandse Oper (Amsterdam), Opera Bilbao, Berlin Staatsooper, Teatro di San Carlo (Naples), Théâtre du la Royal de Monnaie (Brussels) and Hamburg Opera, as well as with regional opera companies, symphonies, and festivals throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico. In addition, his students continue to win major national and international awards. His student Mary Dunleavy was recently awarded The Maria Callas Debut Award with The Dallas Opera. Equally at home as a collaborative pianist with vocalists in recital, Mr. Dietert has appeared throughout North America and Europe, on all of the major concert stages in New York City and has toured under the auspices of Young Concert Artists. A highlight of his career was the collaboration with one of his mentors, the late French baritone Gérard Souzay, in the penultimate recital of his singing career at the Mozarteum during the Salzburg Festival.
